What patients say on Google

“I was very skeptical about seeing a therapist or a psychiatrist. I’ve known for a long time that I needed to see one, but I’ve had a bad experience in the past.. My insurance company recommended Athena as it was in my network. I can honestly say my therapist is amazing. She listens and she gives me homework to work with in between appointments and she’s always very reassuring, knowledgeable, understanding, and very sweet. I didn’t want a psychiatrist because I didn’t wanna be all drugged up and I told them that upfront. After about two months of seeing my therapist Tameka Vaughn she did recommend a psychiatrist to help with some of the issues I was having. I agreed because I really thought I was losing mind and nothing seemed to help except talking to her an hour a week, which wasn’t enough. She recommended Brooke Bryant who is also very caring and determined to make me feel better along with continuing meetings with Tamika. I don’t see Brooke very often, I’ve only met her twice. The first time was mainly an introduction visit, some of my complaints, and what Tamika has shared with her. The second visit was medication. I’ve tried pretty much all of them over the years but nothing really “worked”. They weren’t really helping the problem, they were masking it. She asked me if she could run an analysis on me by swapping the inside of my cheek. Instead of just tossing me the most up to date drug, she wanted to see what will work best for me, my body, my mind, my DNA. She wants to fix me. The only thing we have to wonder about now is dosing! I see her next week for the 3rd time and we will discuss the dosing and may have to play around with it, but knowing they have only ME in mind and want to help, means a lot. That alone has helped me some. I did this for me and my mental wellbeing and to keep my family functioning and still have a long way to go, but the little differences I do see make me feel like I can eventually get out from this rock I’m under. Trust is something very hard to come by in my world and they have it, so If you ever need someone to listen and truly care enough to hear you, you can’t go wrong with Athena.”

“The appointments are booked pretty far in advance, but they took my insurance and the whole process was very efficient. I had a kid evaluated for ASD and ADHD. We had a virtual consult to give medical history and answer questions, then the testing day (3.5 hours for my kid), and a virtual appointment to go over the final report, which was very thorough and included many recommendations for us and for school.”

“Ilu Amin is one of the best practitioners I’ve ever worked with. She’s very thorough, understanding, and kind. She’s an exceptional listener, I always feel heard and understood, and she always takes the time to walk me through medications, supplements, or lifestyle changes she thinks would be beneficial. She lets me ask all the questions I have, is never judgmental, and has great respect for her patients. I cannot say enough good things about her as a behavioral health practitioner. She really is among the best in her field.”

“The process of being seen was very smooth, I was able to feel comfortable sharing details about myself without worrying about being judged. Dr. Bogner explained the entire process and helped me better understand it all through out the session, and it didn’t feel like I was being rushed to stay within the time frame. I greatly appreciate the services I received here and look forward to coming back”
